Flexible travel options
Because no two guests are exactly the same, or are looking for exactly the same kind of river cruise holiday, Avalon Waterways can craft your holiday to suit you. Talk to one of our travel specialists about any individual requests you may have – be it a no-fly cruise, adding a hotel stay at the beginning or end of your cruise, or any other requirement.
Of course, you are welcome to arrange your own rail or air travel and transfers if you wish. Yet, as part of the Globus Travel Group, you can be sure that the experts at Avalon Waterways can save you substantial time and money in organising your holiday, not to mention peace of mind that all your travel arrangements are in safe hands.
Cruise only
If you are looking for greater flexibility when you book your river cruise, you can choose a ‘cruise only’ option and make your own way to the starting point from where your river cruise ship departs. Details can be found at the ‘cruise only’ option of each individual cruise page. The home pick-up service is not included on the ‘cruise only’ option.
No-fly cruises
You can also choose to make your way to your river cruise ship or the first hotel, and still let us organise the cruise ship accommodation and any relevant additional accommodation at local hotels. Talk to our travel specialists at the time of booking as some restrictions may apply.
The best prices with the best airlines
As an independent river cruise line, Avalon Waterways enjoys the advantage of not being tied to any one airline, and is able to negotiate the lowest airfares with the best airlines for our customers.
Door-to-door return home pick-up service
As part of our commitment to providing the best possible service, our complimentary home pick-up service ensures that you can relax in style from the moment you leave home. Your exclusive air-conditioned executive car will take you and your travelling companion from your home to the terminal entrance and, on your return, your driver will meet you in the arrivals hall and, at all times, load and unload your luggage.
This complimentary service is available if you live within 75 miles of your international departure airport or Eurostar station. If you live further away you can still take advantage of the service by paying for the excess mileage at £1.70 per car, per mile. Mileage is calculated using the quickest route on www.rac.co.uk. The service is only applicable to the UK mainland, with one car available per booking, and the make and model of the car may vary.
Holidays via Eurostar
Comfortable and stylish, Eurostar Standard Class is a relaxing way to travel, and is available on certain river cruises*. All carriages are fully air-conditioned and all seats have a footrest and reading lamp. You can purchase snacks, light meals and drinks at the buffet bar carriages. Alternatively, upgrade to Standard Premier and enjoy a dedicated carriage exclusive to Standard Premier customers, with complimentary light meals and drinks served at your seat, as well as newspapers and magazines. Supplements start from £125 per person return, subject to availability. Our travel specialists can give you further information.
